Bruce Schneier now has a blog! Woo! If you don't know who he is, you should read some of his papers. If you don't care about computer security, you should. Otherwise you're a part of the problem.

Silly quiz of the day...

Great weekend. Left work Friday to go camping with Leah at Punderson State Park. We had a most excellent camping spot. We had to park the truck at the bottom of a small hill and climb a 30-foot path up a hill to get to our spot. It was nice and secluded. We almost had some neighbors in the spot next to us on the hill, but Toby recommended that they kindly find another spot or be torn to bits, in his own words. Way to go Toby! We don't need no stinkin' neighbors! Leah's parents were across the way from us (no hill for them) – they were the ones that picked out the spot-on-the-hill for us, quoting her dad, "You can't hear anything up that hill!"... Other highlights include a nice long walk around the lake, dodging as many questions as possible from the family about what kind of work I do, a fantastic potluck in which someone has mastered the Skyline Chili recipe, a trip to the local cheese factory to buy Amish beef jerky, and lots of other fun stuff. I didn't want to leave, but I had to head out early Sunday morning to get my son. Leah rode home with her parents, so I could go there direct – taking her home first would have added about an hour to my travel time.
I got home and unpacked, cleaned the tent, did my laundry, and decided that the day was just to nice to go on doing work. I'd much rather be spending such a beautiful day doing something fun with my girl and my son, because who knows how may more days this nice will be left in the year? So I gave her a call and tried to talk her out of a nap she was craving, unsuccessfully. But she did come by after her nap, and the three of us went up to Whipp's Ledges and climbed around on the rocks for a while. Most girly-girls would go to this place and walk around on the ground and admire the rocks. Not Leah. First big rock she sees and she's climbing on it like a billygoat. My son looks at me like, WTF? I grin back with my "This is what I'm talking about!" look, and follow. We climbed all over just about every rock we could find, ascending and descending maybe 8-15 feet at a time. She did wimp out when a 3-foot blacksnake blocked our path, though. I tried to grab it for her, but that didn't help. But at least it was a dignified wimping-out so I'll let it slide.
In any case, I can't think of a better way to spend a weekend.
