After getting a good night's sleep, we set off further down the trail. We encountered a group of four Frost Giants. One of them had a mitten that allowed it to thrown Cole-tan seeking snowballs. He got tagged every round with a powerful blow until he fell into the tree-line. Whisper-Rain flew (with magical carpet) over to the crash site and administered magical first-aid to the mostly-dead (but not truly dead) wizard. After Cole-tan was awake again (after numerous heals by the bard) he held the snow-ball giant, and I let the life out of him. In the mean time, Rangar, Tarn and Iceal were dealing with the other three the old fashioned way, with swords. One fled and I took a swipe at him as he passed, but I didn't get him.

We later found a trail that lead off the main trail, up into the mountains. There was a valley with a small lake in the middle with a knocked-over tower in the middle. As we sailed out to the tower, two huge crocs (Crickey!) attacked us. Coletan immediately flew up out of reach and Tarn, Iceal and Ragnar went to the edges of the boat to do battle. Whisp and I held our ground waiting for our opportunity. The crocs bit Tarn hard enough to make him go "Ow!", so, that was me and Whisp's queue to get the heck out of here, and I jumped on the back of his magic carpet as he put it in overdrive. Our escape was short lived, however. The croc lunged out of the water and snapped up the Bard like a kibble-snack, rending the magic carpet in two. I plummeted into the water. I remember thinking, "Not good, not good at all." I did have a plan, however. I could scare the croc away with a little leprechaun magic, and make a break for the deck. But Coletan had a different plan. He flew in to scoop me out of the water. "Here we go again..." I thought. Snap! Now I became the kibble-snack ... but wait! I, unlike my weaker comrades, did not die immediately. I was merely pinned in-between the jaws of the mighty croc (and seriously hurt). "This kind of screws up my plan..." But by this time, the trio of pseudo-fighters had finished off theirs, and came to my rescue. They all looked like they took a beating.

We discovered a hole in the valley wall and decided to check it out. The boat wouldn't fit, so we made out on foot. Ragnar stood guard on the boat. (His player left the game for a prior engagement)The tunnel had a little pit trap and a portcullis, but that was the least of our worries. After dealing with those, we made our way forward and were greeted by a blast of poisonous gas. Iceal fell dead, and everyone else was hanging on by a thread. Coletan and I retreated out of the tunnel, and Tarn Stone Melded into the wall. In a few moments Colt and I could hear Tarn, "Come on guys! There's a dragon that needs killin'!" Well, dragons have lots of treasure, sure, but this thing just about killed us in one blast. We joined up with Tarn and I lifted his wand 'o healing as he and Coletan went nuts with the buff spells. Had Coletan said something, I would have healed him too, but we were a little caught up in the moment to attend to such details... We stormed in, and the dragon said something menacing, but we were so impressed that we forgot what it was. Tarn ran up and started beating on it. I had an improved invis going, but I knew I couldn't sneak attack it just by hiding. So, I opted to harry it with my leprechaun magic. The tactic worked better than expected. The dragon kept trying to haste itself, but I kept slowing it. Other random stuff happened that made the fight tough for the dragon. Coletan launched some of his best spells and it, with little effect. At one point the dragon got pissed at me and hit me with his breath weapon. It rocked my world, but I survived. The dragon finally succumbed to Tarn's beating - just in time, because Tarn was almost dead.

We found a bunch of treasure including a pirate ship that had attacked Lady Lhal's ship and made off with her son. We found some documents that stated that her son was sold to a slavelord in Arabel. Gee, won't she be happy. We sailed back and gave her all this info (for free) and then went back to Marsember. We got Iceal raised, but Whisper-Rain chose to stay dead.
